Is there any marked difference between spring and fall transfers, i.e. spring sophomore vs fall junior? I noticed that CALS, CAS, ILR, HumEc, take in transfers during both rounds, but engineering doesn’t really. Beyond the extra semester for grades, is there any difference in difficulty, or is it really just up to the applicant. If there are any spring transfers, I’d be interested in hearing why they chose spring instead of fall.

Thanks

Hi. As far as I know each school has unique application process. I apply to CALS and they say that it is much harder to be accepted as a spring transfer. I apply for the fall - there are 2 weeks until the deadline.
Anyway, check out their website - they have this information.

@Samatmag: How did you find out about the CALS spring transfer difficulty? Did you contact the admissions office? If it was on the website, where did you find it?

I am sorry, I was talking about AEM major in CALS. They tell about it on their website.
I think that applying for spring is generally harder but cannot name certain numbers.
If it is really so important for you - call to colleges, they are going to help.
