And, of course, what I meant in #18 was 2016! Have seen Springsteen live several times and the show is always great.
D1 gets to celebrate her 30th birthday at Adele’s Boston show (in 2016)!
I am watching Adele on TV now. she is pretty amazing.
Just got home from Chicago performance… all I can say for now is - Oh.My.God.
I am excited to see him soon.
3 hours, 20 minutes with no intermission. The guy just does not stop. Other than a lot of songs that he’s released since I saw him last, his concerts are no different than they were 30 years ago. He crowd surfed, he danced with some older (mid 60ish lady) on the walk between the two sectioned off areas of the stadium floor. He did a solo guitar instrumental of Take It Easy as a tribute to Glenn Frey - half of the arena must have had their smart phones out with the flashlights turned on during it - very moving. He got out onto the floor of the stadium (with bodyguards nearby, of course) twice. And made sure those of us in the cheap seats behind the stage were properly acknowledged several times. So incredible to see him and Stevie Van Zandt feeding off of one another. And oh, I was SO moved by the presence of Jake Clemons on saxophone - Clarence Clemons nephew. You could definitely feel his spirit on some of the awesome saxophone solos… but still miss the big guy.
The Boss is wrapping up his U.S. tour (visited some cities twice!), and this Tuesday, his autobiography will be released, Born to Run. I have preordered it for my Kindle and am looking forward to reading it. Only wish he was doing a book signing in Chicago :(. Looking forward to reading about what makes him tick!
Passed up an opportunity to pick up tickets to see Springsteen in the NY/NJ area a few years back because it fell on an evening when I was scheduled to work extremely late.
Oh well. Hopefully I’ll get lucky like a HS buddy who not only managed to get tickets to go see him this year, but also managed to get great seats for a reasonable price. He enjoyed the concert, but it went so late and delays in public transportation back to NYC so bad he didn’t get home till sometime after 6 am.
Saw him last month–over four hours long!, at Met LIfe Stadium–unbelievably great concert! Luckily I live fairly nearby, was home by 1;30. Canit WAIT to read his autobiography–he’s obviously a great writer, and it’s getting really good reviews.
I was there for the Thu night concert. He was amazing.
