Would love to get tickets for Springsteen’s tour coming up in 2016. Are there tricks one should be aware of to get the best seats? I vaguely remember a discussion here several years ago regarding Carol King and James Taylor tickets… as I remember CC folks got great seats…Words of wisdom? What’s your experience??
Is it something where there is an Amex cardholder presale?
For McCartney, if you sign up through his website, you get access earlier. (Still, they sell out in minutes.). Maybe Springsteen has something similar?
Good luck! I saw Bruce years ago - he puts on a great show.
I saw him on the original River Tour, and many other times. Probably not going to be able to find tickets I can afford for this tour. Sigh.
The only way to get tickets is to do it when tickets go on sale right away. Make sure you have your credit card and sign on information ready, test out your browser to make sure it is compatible, but do not try to access by using multiple browsers or you would be kicked out. the tickets will most likely be sold out in the first 15 minutes.
My siblings and I plan on going to have a re-union in CA, and I will most likely get tickets for other cities too.
I doubt it if springsteen would have anything to do with AmEx Platinum or Gold because that’s not who he is. Of course, I could be wrong.
H and I were just talking about this about a half hour ago… I’m definitely going to get tickets for this one. Haven’t seen him in 30 years, but he’s still the one artist I’ve seen most times in concert… four times.
@pizzagirl - how can you tell if there is a presale? We don’t have Amex, but is there another way to sign up for presale? I looked at his website, and there’s no place to sign up.
Hmmm…we bought Springsteen tickets 3 years ago and didn’t do anything special (not in the first few minutes—heck it probably wasn’t even in the first day). Just got on Ticketmaster and bought them. But then they weren’t great seats or anything.
The only way to see Springsteen is up close and personal. NYC/NJ tickets will go very fast.
I don’t believe Springsteen does pre-sale. I have never seen it.
As a teenager I climbed his fence with my best friend and got a tour of his property from his security guard…lol. I’m guessing I’d be thrown in jail today, not that I could still climb that fence.
I can never get good seats or even tickets at all for concerts anymore without going to stub hub.
Living in NJ (growing up in Springsteen country), I agree with oldfort that tickets go very fast. I’ve been online with credentials ready to go at the dot of the sale opening, and not got them.
I miss the days when I could stand on line at Jack’s music shop in Red Bank and walk away with tickets.
Soundtrack of my PA/NJ childhood!
Got my tickets!
Haven’t been to a Bruce concert in over 25 years, would love to go again.
Tickets still available for some of the shows. We would have to fly to whereever so options. If DD gets into one of her EA schools (no results until next week), we could combine a visit there with a concert. Although it looks like it’s sold out in at least one of those cities.
@oldfort I am duly impressed! My brother, my son and I all tried buying tix for the NJ show. We were online precisely at 10 a.m. Never got close. There is so much “hanky panky” that goes on with Ticketmaster sales. Two minutes after sales went “live,” tickets were already being offered on StubHub for the same shows we were trying to get. Supposedly, purchasers will have to use the same credit card for entry to the show that they used to make the purchase. I’d like to see that get enforced and Bruce will be looking at an empty venue! So, what’s your secret?
I had family and friends try to get on from different locations of US to get tickets. You could do it at the same time, but depending on location and internet speed you could get on faster. You also can’t hesitate when they ask you to type words or click, and LUCK. NJ and NYC shows are the hardest to get when it comes to Bruce. I was impressed that the Toronto show was sold out too.
I am going to see him a few times, but we were all hands on deck for getting 6 tickets to see him in CA. My siblings and H/W are all flying out for the concert and making a weekend out of it. I think wine country tour is in our future.
I tried to get tix. No luck. But it’s fine.
It shocks me to say this, but I passed up tickets for the DC concert. I just couldn’t see $150 a ticket for a seat in the nosebleeds and that’s what Ticketmaster offered me. That’s probably not much for a lot of you, but I’ve seen him in Charlottesville several times and that’s really spoiled me for anything else. I may be kicking myself later, but I just couldn’t do it.
I had a doctor’s appt. at 10AM, so I downloaded the Ticketmaster app to my iPhone and was ready to go. At the moment my phone showed 10AM, I started trying; did not have any luck, and in fact, the message I was getting was leading me to believe I wasn’t going to be able to purchase them from my phone. So after about five minutes I gave up, pretty sure they were all gone. It flummoxed me, so about 40 minutes later I tried again to see if I would get the same message, and all of a sudden, it was showing I could actually purchase two tickets. So, of course, in an instant I went for them, thinking at some point it was going to deny my request. I purchased them, then copies of the tickets popped up on my phone screen, which is when I learned they are… behind the stage. Not a happy camper. Not sure if we will use them or try to resell them.
Going in February! But what I’m really looking forward to in 2018 is Adele in October!
We were unexpectedly given 2 tix for a 2014 concert. It was wonderful!
