So, I’m applying to Taft, Lawrenceville, Exeter, Andover, and Hotchkiss… While I really do want to go to these schools, I’ve realised I do not have a “safety school”.
I have chosen to apply to The Governor’s Academy.
They use the SSAT application, which I completed for Taft and Lawrenceville already.
But if I register for another school, will all my information be submitted to Governor’s? Like, SSAT scores, and teacher recommendations?
Also, the school seems to use a different set of recommendations, can I use the same form that I used for Taft and Lawrenceville?
Thanks

If you choose to apply to an additional school that accepts the SSAT online application, the recommendations, if they were submitted to SSAT, would be sent to the additional school.

Don’t know about your SSAT test scores, but I assume you would have to request that an additional score report be sent out. I would not think that it would happen automatically.

I am intrigued, though, by your choice of Governor’s Academy as a “safety” school, given that it’s acceptance rate of 29%, as published on Boarding School Review, is only a few percentage points higher than Taft (23%). Are you sure you don’t want to find a “safety” school where you actually have a somewhat better chance of being admitted?

Keep in mind that your qualifications are no guarantee of admission. Each of the schools you named (including your “safety” school) turns away as many highly qualified candidates as it admits. So, if your luck is really bad, you could find yourself in that pool of highly qualified candidates who simply don’t get in. Anywhere.

I’m just thinking that if the point of a “safety” school is to be, well, safe, then maybe 29% isn’t quite the acceptance rate you want to be looking for.
