St Georges, SAT averages and Boarding school review

I think this must be a mistake but the boarding school review says that St. George’s average SAT score was in the 1200’s. Is this accurate? or was that old standards?

It’s probably Critical Reading + Math. On Boarding School Review, St. George’s SAT average is listed as 1244. That’s in the 84th percentile for college-bound seniors on the 2011 SAT M + CR composite: http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/SAT-Percentile-Ranks-Composite-CR-M_2011.pdf</a>. As Boarding School Review lists their SSAT percentile as 81%, that’s a good score.

Remember, the SSAT score is the score for entering freshmen, and the SAT score is for the graduating seniors. In other words, the scores don’t compare the same students. Also, in small schools, the scores of a handful of students can lead to very different averages–which says nothing about the education those students received over four years. It’s best to visit a school, rather than try to judge a school from an average standardized test score.
