Hello, I am a high schooler interested in pursuing Sports Broadcasting, with the end goal of becoming a commentator on TV. Amongst numerous schools that I am looking at (Northeastern is my number 1) St. Johns stands out as an interesting option. With my stats (1420/3.8) I am set up for a pretty decent merit aid package, potentially a full-tuition (i’ve heard of their presidential scholarship online but cannot find any info about it on their website). But, I cannot seem to find much info beyond rankings (hovering around #120 for journalism nationwide) to learn about if their journalism program is good. Can anyone give some help?
I would not worry about the strength of a journalism program. Today, you have an iphone - you can do stand ups, call games and more. Go to high school games - sit alone and do play by play in the phone, etc.
They have a journalism degree but do yourself a favor and double major in something - it’s a very tough field.
