St Louis EA invitation

Son admitted EA, received an invite to attend the ND club of St Louis get together at Boeing facility in St Louis in Jan to meet with alumni. Anybody attending? What was this experience like in previous years?

Emailed invitation states 29 students accepted during EA in the St Louis area. Anybody attending the event?

Attended session tonight. Very informative. VP of Admissions Donald Bishop stated that this year, only 50% of valedictorian applicants will be accepted. The reason for acceptance is that “you’re balanced” in your application.

Congratulations on your son’s acceptance! The VP is right, admission is very difficult, not just percentage-wise, but in the scope of the character and qualities that make a student stand out. Each year has been harder than the last, and your son’s class will likely outpace all of us from past years.

I couldn’t answer your question earlier, because I live on the other side of the country, but I can definitely attest to how helpful and supportive the alumni clubs are. They’re a great resource for current students, and for networking after graduation (ND has the highest number of alumni clubs, and they’re spread out around the country and the world).

Good luck to your son on making his college decision. Is Notre Dame one of his first choices? I definitely recommend visiting, if at all possible; a brief day visit made ND go from “a great school” to “the perfect school” in my mind. The atmosphere is a little overwhelming when you first get there, so you know whether or not you like it.

My son was accepted EA to both ND and Georgetown School of Nursing and Health Sciences. He is premed. Currently trying to decide between these 2 choices for a health career.
