Hi I got accepted as a new fourth former (10th grade) of St. Mark’s school. As I was doing more research about SMS, I found that there are not many descriptions about their theater program. As a student who wants to major theater at college, the quality of theater program is really important, so I want to know more about their theater program and productions. Is it in a good quality, and do they prepare well for students who want to pursue theater major in college?
They have a few alums who are famous actors, but one of the reasons my son decided not to go there was that they don’t do musical theater. They had some acting and improv classes, and perform some plays, but no musicals. This was a few years ago, so maybe different now. But if you are interested in musicals, I would definitely ask about that.
@buuzn03’s son attended St. Mark’s. She may be able to comment.
Oh my god I didn’t know that they don’t have musical productions. I feel so miserable since I want to become a musical actor in the future I don’t think I could change my school decision because my mom already payed the deposit. Is there any musical programs (like precollege programs) that I could take on weekends at Boston?
