St. Patty's Day party ideas?

Hey all!

My roommate and I want to throw a St. Patty’s day party and want some ideas for decorations, music, food, drinks, and fun. (FOOD AND DRINK ideas most needed!!!) It won’t be big (as we don’t want our house trashed) but there will probably be around 15-20 people over at most. Oh, were both girls if that matters and the guests are a mix of girls and guys.

So if any of you have any ideas/tips they’d be greatly appreciated!

Dollar store decorations! They’re cheesy and funny :)

I’d say green-related drinks if possible such as Mountain Dew and St. Patty cookies (shaped like a 4-leaf clover? green sprinkles?) for snacks. Otherwise I assume standard food would be good, like chips and dip, burgers, etc.
Music: Well, anything goes. It’s a party for a modern world and it’s college so I assume any type of dance music such as Top 50 hits would be fine.

I also agree with Nanner - you can’t go wrong with decorations from a 99c or dollar store! You can probably also score some cheap green hats once March hits hehe. For most themed parties I go to it only barely follows the theme and just spread the word that everyone should try to dress up like the theme (in this case, dress in green!)

Try to have two salty and two sweet- one of each being semi-healthy (the key word is semi, it’s a party, so don’t go all health nut!). Anything green is usually a big hit, especially if they’re cookies, or something frosted with green frosting:)

Food: Potatoes, soda bread (okay, in all reality, just get pizza and some St. Patrick’s Day-themed cookies). If you’re going for the kegs ‘n’ eggs style of party, well, the food is self-explanatory.

Drinks: Guinness, Jameson, Baileys, Irish car bombs

Music: Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, Thin Lizzy

The drinks and music are the most crucial part. Typical crummy college beers like Natty Light and typical college dance music are NOT acceptable lest ye feel the wrath of ol’ St. Paddy himself.

I’m just gonna stop you right there. Here’s what you should do:

Decorations: green stuff
Music: party music
Drinks: beer
Fun: drink the beer

It’s not a tough concept.

And yes, yes they are. This is college, not a pub in Dublin. Natty light will more than suffice. And although I do, most girls and a lot of guys don’t like heavier beer such as Guinness so it’s not really necessary and definitely not expected.

you’re basically ****ing on the entire country of Ireland

not really…I think its pretty understood that college kids can’t afford to buy a night full of Guinness and Jameson for 20 people. You obviously have an irish heritage and you like to stick to that which is fine but in reality that doesn’t happen with the vast majority of college kids.

bin Laden was more Irish than me

e: I’m just being a dick, although I definitely plan on having Guinness. Don’t care what anyone else has though :P
