St. Paul's School Concord NH

Thanks for updating!

Rent-A-Text program:

I notice this in the parent portal and think it is a good idea. Anyone has experience of it and likes to share?

I rented a few textbooks this year it’s super easy and saved my parents a ton of money i would definitely recommend that you can also sell you books back at the end of the year, my roommate got a lot back from that. Worst case scenario I would say to buy at least used books. There is really no need to buy you own news ones. They take back books with writing in them so you can still do that.

My son is starting as a 3rd former. For parents weekend, should we plan to stay over Friday, Saturday, or both?

Great question: What time does the schedule commence on Friday? I’m thinking we may need to be in the area Thursday night too.

They may have something in the morning, but we drove up Friday morning and met with our daughter’s advisor in the afternoon. We took her out to dinner that night. On Saturday, you go to Chapel then to your child’s classes. Lunch is at the hockey rink. If your child plays a sport, they will have a home game. If you are local you will want to go home after that. If not local, many people will take their child to Boston for a break. The bus to go back to school leaves at 12:30 monday, so it is not a very long break.

hey guys! i was thinking of applying to st paul’s, namely because the full boarding seems like a pretty awesome experience. so i was wondering, how is the arts program at st paul’s, especially in visual arts and photography, and the foreign language programs? Thanks!

blehjoints - the 100% boarding helps build a very cohesive community. Everyone shares the same experience.

All the arts are stellar at SPS and fine arts included. There are many options in painting, drawing, photography and other visual arts. Beautiful artwork is created on campus. Strong faculty and talented students.

Languages are also strong with many different options. There are also exchange programs available of varying lengths.

i am grade 7, turning into grade 8 in a month, and i am residing in canada. i have placed first in my school with pretty bad overall mark (95.33%) and i am emigrated from South Korea for 4 years so far. i know Alg 1 and Geometry, studying Algebra 2 (almost finished) and i am going to take advanced trig and pre-calculus in grade 8 (not in school, from able enrichment center and cty online distance learning). My dream is to go to Saint Paul’s School, have a good academic experience and go to a good college (hoping for MIT and Cal-Tech.) i know that students who go to have like straight A+s and all, but i cant stop hoping. i will apply for financial aid and attend there as an international student… do i have a chance at saint paul’s school’s admission and financial aid?

p.s. i am attending kumon (both reading and math) and i am studying grade 11 math and grade 10 english… i also do martial arts and i am wondering if it counts for something…

@daehom: I am under the assumption that most American BSs don’t have much $ budgeted for international FA candidates.

@EveryoneElse: Does anyone know where AO Yuri Francis went? I liked him a lot and wonder where he ended up…if he’s still even in education.

wait so will the lindsay center open before or after christmas break?

@ SevenDad: Mr. Francis will oversee the high school of a private K-12 school in New Jersey. I forgot its name and location, but I remember him telling me that one evening in the dorm back in June. I was one of his advisees last year.

Yuri is at [Montclair Kimberley Academy](http://www.mka.org/).

Thanks all for the updates on Yuri’s whereabouts!

Packing List:

Will the school send out a list of stuff to bring?

CKSABS gave a link in thread #2636, but it didn’t work now.

This list is pretty thorough. I particularly liked the mattress topper idea!

Boynton: Check out pages 61-62 in the Handbook. [Student Handbook 2011-12](http://www.sps.edu/flipbook/Student_Handbook_2011-12/index.html)

Looking over the dress code, I don’t see detail concerning shoes. Any issues with sneakers?

@CKSABS: I realize I have neglected the most important document. I must confess I haven’t read it yet.

Thanks CKSABS and Kraordrawoh!

Did we ever get an answer on the footwear issue? Sneakers, loafers, Bean Boots, flip flops…?
Also, can kids wear shorts all year 'round?
