CORRECTION: The stabbing occurred during a Chemistry 30CL class.

Sources at the scene of the crime said a male student stabbed a female student during a Chemistry 30CL class. The university has yet to confirm the following information, but the following events occurred according to the sources, who are not official university representatives.

The suspect turned himself in, and the victim was taken away from the scene in an ambulance. Students were present during the stabbing, and counselors were brought in to console those who were traumatized.

All sixth-floor labs and discussions are canceled, and the area was taped off by university police. All other chemistry classes in Young Hall are continuing. Community service officers, UCPD, administration and chemistry professors are present and the investigation is under way. According to a statement released by the university, the victim and the suspect worked together in a chemistry lab on campus.

Shouldn’t be too concerned. Here’s the crime bulletin for UCLA:

I guess what they say is true, people down in south campus are really cutthroat.

Well. The situation doesn’t appear to have been a random attack, so I don’t think there’s quite a need to fear for our lives just yet. But this and the murder at Yale, and you really start to feel suspicious of everyone around you.

weird
