Stacy Peterson's body found?

News around here is that it’s a good possibility.

wow- I hope her family finally gets closure.

OH, I hope so…and that there is some sort of evidence to finally nail that snake Drew Peterson. I can’t wait to get to work tomorrow and listen to Chicago talk radio.

It’s interesting depending on who you listen to, or what you read. On one report, I heard that some sort of ‘container’ was found nearby, which would jive with Drew’s relative’s account that he thinks he helped Drew dispose of Stacy’s body. Other reports say the police won’t even comment on whether or not it’s a male or female. Then you hear Stacy’s family and the family spokesman have already heard from law enforcement regarding the possibility that it could be Stacy.

AZKMom - which station do you listen to? I’ll be driving to Midway around 10:30 and usually listen to Kathy & Judy if I’m in the car about that time. My bet is they’ll talk about it early on in the show, before I’m in the car.

I hope there is some sort of evidence to finally nail the real killer; whoever it is.

My observations of Drew Peterson have led me to believe he killed Stacy. His reasoning that his wife ran off with another man doesn’t make any sense as a young woman who does that is not going to lose all contact with her parents and her young children. But what truly leads me to the idea of guilt in her death is how this man never acts distraught that his wife is missing and has led no searches or outcry to find her or perhaps a killer, etc. If he is not guilty, most spouses would be doing all they could to find the missing wife or mother of their children and being upset at their being missing (even if not upset that the person has left them). It reminds me of OJ Simpson who never called for finding his wife’s killer before his own trial or afterwards. If he didn’t do it, wouldn’t he be wanting people to find who killed her? That would be the natural thing in both cases.

What’s the most frightening about Drew Peterson is that he still has no problem attracting women. In addition to his young fiancee, he gets lots of correspondence from women who are sure he’s innocent and say they are attracted by his smile.

His smile and inappropriate jokes give me the creeps.

I am so very sorry for his children. I can’t imagine what they’ve been living through and how frightened they must be. Apparently their mothers’ parents didn’t seek custody until now because they had been advised that their chances would be nil until he was charged.

Important to realize, however, that we don’t know if the remains are female, there is another missing woman from that area, and there may be more missing people whom we haven’t heard about.

It’s true that we don’t know yet if the remains belong to Stacy Peterson but should know soon. Not sure if you heard but a mile downstream was a blue barrel as well (Drew’s stepbrother assisted Drew with removing a heavy blue barrel from his house the day after Stacy went missing and the stepbrother believes the barrel contained Stacy’s body). Again, nothing proven…yet.

My comments about Drew, however, are how I felt before this latest discovery.

teriwtt

Yup, I listen to WGN and love Kathy and Judy. There is a woman that was on John Williams show this morning that saw a blue barrel near there. She discovered it on a walk with her husband and baby a few days ago and took a picture of it and called the police about it. She sounded very credible.

Sad that people’s idea of a joke is to put blue barrels in that area.

"A plastic blue barrel was spotted in the vicinity of the body. Channahon resident Michelle Williams told WGN Radio host John Williams this morning that she and her husband saw the barrel in heavy brush on the riverbank on Sunday and she saw it again on Tuesday.

The significance of a blue barrel is that Drew Peterson’s stepbrother, Thomas Morphey, has said that he helped Peterson remove a blue container from Peterson’s home on the day that Stacy disappeared, and that he believed Stacy’s body was inside it.

But others familiar with the river said blue barrels there are a common sight. Paul Dareak, a bartender at Mugzy’s Hideout, a nearby bar, said he sees them all the time and that some people throw them in as a joke, knowing about the possible connection to Stacy Peterson’s disappearance. A group searching for Stacy Peterson last year pulled out more than 20 from the water, he said…"

In fitting with my post #6, Drew Peterson, upon being told of the findings of remains, was unfazed by it. Now, if someone was not guilty and not involved in the disappearance of the mother of his children, wouldn’t he be glad that possibly some closure to her being found might be imminent? But saying he is unfazed is like saying “he’s not worried that he could be in more trouble.” But other family members anxiously await news that some closure could be possible as to Stacy’s fate.

The other woman in the area who has been missing is named Lisa Stebic.

BTW, has anyone noticed that newscaster now refer to someone who “went missing” on such-and-such date? That’s a new one on me. Isn’t someone just … “missing”? The terminology bugs me!

Eery… but in both Lacy Peterson and POSSIBLY Stacy Peterson’s case, their bodies washed up with the head missing.

AZKMom - I am absolutely flabbergasted that they cancelled the show today. I was riding in the car with my family this morning down in Houston, and D1 was reading the Trib news on her phone and said, “Mom, did you know that Kathy and Judy have been cancelled?” I thought she was making up some sort of joke, but then read it myself. I guess my days of listening to talk radio are about over.

Well, I’m convinved he does know the specifics of her disappearance, and if it didn’t take place in this area, then he wouldn’t necessarily be fazed by it. But you’re right, nothing fazes him. I just hope one of these families gets some sort of closure.

Right…if he did it and it did not take place in that area, he wouldn’t be fazed. But I was looking at the OTHER side…IF he were innocent (which I don’t believe), and his wife’s remains COULD have been found…it would affect him. LIke I was saying earlier, if he were innocent, you’d think he’d be looking for her and hoping she was found or at least no harm had come to the mother of his children. That is how an INNOCENT man would act. He WOULD be fazed by any news of her whereabouts. He would be upset to learn that she possibly could have died. But as a guilty man, his reaction is gonna be different.

Am just catching up on news from the last couple of days, and it seems as if Drew isn’t so chipper and smug these days in court; wonder if it has anything to do with a witness claiming he was looking to pay someone to kill his third wife?

“but in both Lacy Peterson and POSSIBLY Stacy Peterson’s case, their bodies washed up with the head missing.”

Not surprising. Not much connects the skull to the neck. Given currents, rocks, etc., no surprise that the head would detach from the rest of the body.

teriwtt

Sorry to go off topic for a minute…but yes flabbergasted is a good way to describe my reaction yesterday. I had WGN on in my office yesterday morning before K&J came on and traded offices with my boss for a little while. He had music playing in his office so I just left it on. He came down a short while later and asked “Did you know today is Kathy and Judy’s last day?” I listened to they whole show and was just SAD all day. The last 20 minutes or so were pretty emotional. I am really angry with WGN and their “business decision”. There is no other talk radio show around that connects to my demographic, I do listen to Steve Cochrane and John Williams occasionally but have turned off WGN during the 1-4 segment now that they have brought on Garry Meier. And Milwaukee talk radio is just too conservative and reactionary for me. Comments I read last night reflect a lot of angry listeners who will be turning off WGN. Bob Sirott made a comment yesterday that he didn’t know what was more unusual, “That they had a show for 20 years or that they were able to actually do a last show, because in radio DJ’s usually find out about their last show after they have already done it.” Along with my 2nd son graduating from HS soon and my husband still without a job (after 4 1/2 months) and the cloudy day yesterday , it just made for a melancholy day. Well, no more talk radio, it’s the DRIVE for me now!!!
