Stand out EC's?

Would these be considered ‘stand out’ EC’s? Looking at some larger universities (NYU, Macaulay Honors @ Hunter, Columbia).

Class Vice President

Student Council/ Class Cabinet

National Honor Society

Thoreau Society, Secretary

‘Riding Member’ of ambulance corp youth squad, 700+ hours, presently Vice President
(riding = 1 shift a week responding to 911 calls, and actually assisting, NOT observing)

Won state competition in youth squad drill team ^

200+ hours Cardiology office volunteering/ observing

Held legal/ on the books office job since 8th grade

Freshman Varsity Cross Country (couldn’t continue due to chronic illness)

Summer Programm at a Medical School (Stony Brook)

Founded organization that promotes awareness for an unusual cause (NY Fire Patrol)

NYS Drivers Licence

Certified to Work in a Research Laboratory

New York State Certified First Responder (EMS)

CPR Certified

95+ GPA UW, several AP’s, 2100+ SAT.

The ambulance corp, first responder, and cardiology observation stand out to me. They show a strong interest in medicine, they’re unusual, and they sound like good learning experiences.

The rest are reasonably standard stuff.

Colleges also always like class presidents – but I agree that the ambulance/cardiology work is a strong and less common EC and will be helpful particularly if you are looking towards pre-med

How would having a drivers license be an EC? The NY Fire Patrol organization might have an interesting story.
