Standardized scores good enough?

ACT: 31
SAT chem: 800
SAT math lvl2: 750 and 770

Are these scores competitive for Stanford or are they borderline? I’m Asian, btw.

math 2 is low, if you want to be an engineer, etc.
E.G. I have a 750, too, but I’m not a math person at ALL haha. I’m going to be an English major, so my 800 in Lit helps.

Your ACT composite is also on the low end. If you have no significant hook, you should try to raise it. I have a 33 (and a 2270 SAT), and I’m worried as hell.

Heres what I have

SAT I: 800M 670CR 630W (2100= :(, i know)
SAT II: Math2 800
USH: 700
GPA: 4.2
5 on CS A
4 on AP USH
4 on WHAP
taking Micro, BC Calc, Gov’t, and Stats tests in MAy

My result, REJECTED (part of Holiday SCEA Massacre)

you’re scores would disadvantage you significantly in the process. you need to have some fantastic essays.

You are more than a number. Those scores seem fine to me. Work on developing some fine essays and that will give you your best shot at getting in.

your scores are completely fine
if you take the tests again, Stanford will think you are too grade obsessed
STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES WON’T GET YOU IN, BUT THEY CAN KEEP YOU OUT; JUST BE SURE TO BE WITHIN THE STANFORD RANGE OF SAT SCORES
you totally are
don’t worry about the grades and try to do something productive and fun with your time

your score are fine.

people should realize by now that it’s not about the scores.

even if you had 800s across the board, it wouldn’t get you in. look at the Decisions thread to see many examples of that.

so focus on other aspects of your app like passion and leadersip.
