Standing out to Barnard College

I’m planning on applying to Barnard (as well as NYU, Columbia, Brown, Loyola Marymount, Chapman, and Scripps College) as a transfer student in the fall and I’m looking for ways to really stand out? I didn’t do very well in high school (2.8 GPA and no SAT/ACT scores) but I have a college GPA of 3.8, I’m involved in two clubs on campus and student government, I’m in my community college’s honors program, I work a part time on-campus job, and I run an on online magazine dedicated to film reviews. I’ve vastly improved from high l and I’m confident that my essays are going to be strong, but I’m still concerned about my chances because I read on their website that they only accept about 80 students per year and they have a very high retention rate. Do you think there’s anything Barnard specific I could do to up my chances? I live in Southern California and the likely hood of me getting out there to make a visit is very slim and they don’t offer interviews for transfer students. I read another post from someone in a similar position as me from 2012, but it didn’t help me out much. Any tips, specifically from alumni, faculty, or current students could go such a long way. Thank you!
