waitlist isn’t included in the 7% acceptance rate
but REA is i think,so I think its around 6%?
can someone refresh me with how many people applied REA this year and the acceptance rates?

Acceptance rate for REA was about 12% I think. Good luck you guys! I’m a REA reject. Haha, just remember that if you’re rejected, you WILL get over it. Trust me.

I remember sending myself a letter on futureme.com (or some similar website) basically saying “chill out, your college acceptance/rejection will not validate or negate the effort you have put in for the last 17 years of your life”. I like sending my future self letters, it calms me down xD

Omg… I just reread the first email Stanford sent us after submitting the application, and noticed we had to click on a link to verify that we had received the email… I don’t remember if I did this lol but what if I hadn’t? It said clicking on the link was very important o_O I hope I didn’t miss any emails…How many emails did you all receive from Stanford?

^^
after that email saying to click the link, the only other email i received was the decision letter (EDIT: and emails pertaining to accepted students)
i think it is to make sure that your decision email works correctly and all emails after that.

(I was an REA admit)

10 days, guys…geeez this is nerve-wracking.

yeah, i can hardly believe it. one more day and it will be a single-digit countdown!

Unfortunately, roughly 93% of those who have applied will not be offered admission this year and just 2-3% will be offered a space on our waiting list.
(from the admission news on the stanford website) so the acceptance rate is like less than even 5%

I want to send myself mail on futureme.com! That sounds SO FUNN! ahh!

[Admission News : Stanford University](<a href=“Page Not Found : Stanford University”>Page Not Found : Stanford University)

Oh my goodness! It will be a mixture of a flood of tears and an echo of horrays and yays on April 1st.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst people.

If you really deserve to go to Stanford, a 5% RD acceptance rate won’t keep you from getting in!

Yes, I’m sure only 5% of the RD applicans deserve to go to Stanford ;)

@SynapseLapse
you’re right, i was just trying to quell a bit of anxiety, haha

btw, like your name.

Wait, re: post #94–I took that quote to mean their acceptance rate was roughly 7%. Why are you subtracting the wait list percentages to arrive at 5%?

From admissions website: “Unfortunately, roughly 93% of those who have applied will not be offered admission this year and just 2-3% will be offered a space on our waiting list.”
So the acceptance rate is going to be between 4 and 5%.

8 days 6 hours and 20 minutes! wooooohoooo!

5%?

dies

Re post #101: The website statement might be a little confusing. The overall admission rate including early and regular acceptance will be 7%. The percentage of students offered admission from the waiting list is independent of the overall admit rate.

6 days!

…REALLY hoping 7 will be my lucky number, lol.

@MSG yeah, i think the website is just confusing…my super called my admission officer to have a chat and was told the acceptance rate will be about 7. waitlist is 2-3 on top of that, because in all likely hood, most of the waitlisted will not be offered admission because most acceptances are acted upon.
