Stanford 2014 SCEAers

How much did you get the last time?

I got a meager 630…

:'[ I got a tad lower…it makes me so depressed. I’ll say my stats decision time.

whatever you please :)

damnnn decisions…

As time passes by, my intimidation explodes exponentially…

Caltech buys MIT :P

[Caltech East Campus](http://east.caltech.edu)

im pretty sure the decisions will come before the 15th. 2 years in row now on the 12th, PST. so maybe this year too?

^^

could be, but the stats of the bit more former years (3/4 years ago) say otherwise…

But yes, I think it will be Dec. 11, 14 or 15

The specifically said on the 15th on the update on the Stanford website

Good morning you guys! I have a lot of homework so I’ll be on and off. agree with Sarb on the possible dates., but most likely the 15th

God I couldn’t sleep last night thanks to 1984. Making him subject himself to believing everything the Party says was one thing, but when they make him betray the person he loved, I cried not just at how sad that was, but the power and influence the party had and how they bring humankind down it’s most primitive level of self preservation over all else. I personally don’t think the majority of humans are clueless enough to let something like 1984 happen, or at least that’s what I hope.

^^

When it comes to 1984, my favourite hobby is introspecting how the inner party behaved.

Did anyone else absolutely LOATHE the hitler youth-esque kids and there tattle tale antics for discovering thoughtcrime?

I just never figured out why they - well, people like O Brien - wanted the system the way it was. I mean, ultimate power, great, but it’s not even about YOU, it’s all about the party.

wow, we are in the single digits! 9 days!!!

Atlas Shrugged > 1984

'Nuff said. :D

Haha. I disagree. :p

Yeah Quasi, I supposed people like Obrien just liked the stability of being on top. Upper class= inner party, middle class = outer party, lower class = proles. THis system allowed the uppre class to stay on top even if the standards of the upper class weren’t all that great, that stability is what people like Obrien wanted.

But he was a fanatic about it! He seemed to truly believe in it. It couldn’t just be the stability he wanted if he believed in it like it was some kind of…I don’t know.

btw, are internationals judged in the same pool with the US applicants?

PS: Yeah Quasi that is true, but perhaps it was the sadistic joy he got from torturing people whose intellectual capacity nearly rivaled his (Like Winston, I wonder if the character’s name has anything to do with Winston Churchill).

Nah, we’re not. Separate, more competitive, need-aware pool.

oh wow in that case, good luck Quasi, and to all other international applicants on this forum!
