Woolooloo surprised to see me? Haven’t been here in forever!
Cool to see you guys still keepin’ it real… albeit at a slower pace. :)

I know I seem to return in a kinda moochery fashion, but… Any of you guys willing to give a last-minute lookover at one or both of my main application essays? I promise to be your best buddy forever with candy and sparkles if you do… I won’t even invade your homeland, even though–
I’m Prussia! The most invasive country in history!
(For old time’s sake.)

I appreciate any feedback, even simple things like “overall a thumbs up” or “needs some editing” or the dreaded “dude, just pick a new topic… …”
Hahaha.

Thanks to you too Pruss. You’re essays were pretty awesome. I’ll be submitting to Yale and Penn hopefully. Which means I’LL BE FREE OF COLLEGE APPS FOREVERRRRR… until graduate school…

I’d love to look at your essay, Prussia, if you read my common app essay
I need to finish my Princeton essay aw;eoifjds;ajfew. I swear, I’m just one large mass of writer’s block.

PS Wang, those aren’t college apps, those are graduate school apps which are DIFFERENT, so you will be free of college apps foreverrrr!!! Hahaha.

HAHAHAHA okay so someone awesome pointed this site out to me: stanfordrejects.com
Have you guys already seen this, am I like the last person on the planet to know about this website? Because I love it, a lot.

Absolutely! Yay. There’s two essays, by the way, but the first one’s comical so it may be easier on the eyes.

Haha wow, that is hilarious. I can’t believe they actually bought that domain name. Kinda self-denigrating humor there, but dang is it funny.

I kind of feel like I should have applied to Princeton, since my essays could fit their prompt without any extra work (and I have fee waivers, woo hoo!), but it’s kinda late now for transcripts and such. I don’t get back from break until the 4th.
Not sure it’d really be a “fit” anyway, but… Nothing’d be to lose in work-free fee-free applications, right? Oh well, hahaha.

Self-denigrating? I like to think that Stanford rejects are really the best applicants ever. Half the people still here are empirical evidence of this fact haha.

Wow lucky, I’d apply almost anywhere work-free, fee-free. Except for women’s colleges, they need to stop sending me those emails, I am not interested.

I liked the second one better actually, despite the fact that it wasn’t at all light-hearted (:

AGGGHHH I can’t stand my Princeton essay, I’ve been working on it all day and I still can’t write a good one, this is like Penn 217 all over again. Can someone read my shoddy little essay type thing… and promise not to judge me for it :|

Yay, thanks! Uhm, just promise that you’ll still think I’m a not-terrible writer ahaha.
I used the pick-your-own-quote prompt, so it’s pretty much “tell about an experience/event that changed your approach to life or defined one of your values”

Yeah, I feel like throwing an app at Yale because I’m 85% finished. I don’t necessarily want to go to Yale, but I love paid trips… so it’d be fun to go to Bulldog Days. LOL. Is that awful or what? I’m poor. I never go ANYWHERE. And I got a new carry-on for Christmas! Not that I have any reason to believe I’d be accepted (okay, well, not any reason to get cocky, anyway).

I love my name twin <3
You can have my essay writing skills/lackthereof, I don’t want them. I think we’d both be much better off stealing from someone else, perhaps someone who knows how to insert detail into stuff, lol!

Ahaah applicannot!! That’s the best reason to apply to Yale I’ve heard ever. But yeah, if you didn’t apply that would make more room for me. So I urge you not to imply. Just disregard the selfish overtones ;)

Awww, the old SCEAers were awesome Basically the people who were involved in “The Yale Wars,” and even a lot of those who were not. Obviously, collegeguy2014 (the guy who started this thread) is amazing too.

We were trying to beat Yale, who had 2000+ posts while we only had 500ish. And we wanted to win. Which led to a long evening in which some of us stayed up to see Yale get defeated.

Interestingly enough, Yale is my top choice now.

Hahahahhahahahah LOVE IT, I especially enjoyed the link to the Yale thread… man, Stanford is just so much cooler. And by Stanford I mean the people who posted on this thread, not the actual school, which I am no longer allowed to have attachments to.

Yale hardly ever takes more than 1 kid from my school, and someone got in EA. I mean, I’m still applying, but there go my chances haha.

Name twin, I think this IS the rejection party. Hahah :)
