Stanford Chemistry Department

What I have seen online about Stanford’s chemistry department is good, but comments from friends were anything but. In reference to Stanford’s undergraduate chemistry program, are the teachers very thorough and of high quality? What is the rigor of the classes? Do the students receive an immense amount of homework or are they able to study on their own? What is the overall student satisfaction of chemistry students at Stanford? Are they able to have some free-time, or are students bogged down with work 24/7?

Stanford does not admit students to a department. So it is a moot point to figure out how the undergraduate program works in chemistry.

One will barely spend an year to cover the chemistry requirements to get the degree in chemistry.
