4 hours and 8 minutes guys… :((
@sajidur I think that should have been 7 hours and 8 minutes…??? Isn’t the release time supposed to be 3pm pacific time?
@mama2five oh my goddddd… I thought it was eastern… More hours of wait!! I can’t do this ~X(
Is it true that they release their decisions today?
Yes, Stanford posted on their website that decisions would be released at 3 pm PST today.
Rejection #2, here I come!
@unproductive No one can really answer this—the good news is, you’ll find out in around 6 hours. I’d say, though, if your ECs are really great and you’ve received international recognition for them, you have a shot, despite the GPA and being Asian. The GPA being slightly lower (but still good—and I’m assuming the grades don’t have a downward trend) won’t matter if you’re truly spectacular in those other ways.
@sajidur sorry to be the bearer of bad news; look at the bright side, at least they aren’t waiting until the 1st!
Yeah no it’s a downward trend. I’m not expecting anything. Just the futile slimmer of hope.
does the email straight up tell you or is there an attachment containing the letter?
@Goinwittheflow the email is the decision letter
@unproductive yo I’m in the exact same situation…
Let’s just hope for the best.
I would definitely pick Stanford over Berkeley because Stanford is way more awesome haha
My son is eagerly awaiting the Stanford decisions today…Do they release financial aid offers at the same time or is it just acceptance letters?
Yeah Stanford 2018 and 2016 RD Results threads are making me really depressed right now lol
@unproductive but I can’t stay away
lol
four more hours left mates
My school is fairly new and we only had two Stanford admissions so far… Both of them were in student council with pretty high positions (president and vice president)… Stanford sure likes StuCo people. Ugh. And I know my school’s ENTIRE student council seniors applied, including the president and the vice president. I just know I’m going to get rejected because I’m not associated with stuco in any way. Ugh
@gamink348 don’t give up hope yet. No one from my high school has been accepted to Stanford for 4 years. And in previous years, people with low SAT and GPA got accepted while those with good academic record and EC were rejected. So, there is neither pattern nor any formula. Good luck
