@mackyg I am just curious, why would Stanford give a University ID to rejected students and put them in the student record database?

The general rule of thumb is don’t try to read the tea leaves. The only thing that matters is the decision on the day. You should assume that if there were a backdoor that teenagers can find, the more experienced AO’s will have already found a way to plug it.
@KG5APR it’s just automatically given in the system… they need to identify thousands of applicants somehow but just because it says university id
^^^^^ it doesn’t meant you’ve been accepted. Mines been there since I applied.
How do you see your stanford ID? if it is true that everyone has one.

I hate to be so paranoid, but I don’t see a “University ID” on my admissions portal. (I’m assuming you’re referring to the checklist page that you are directed to upon logging in). This may mean something…
I also do not have University ID displayed on my portal home. I have only the temporary PIN Number that was emailed to us when we first submitted the application

@Axlevision22 Yeah I was emailed a pin too back when I submitted my app but it’s not on the portal or anything

Dear everyone, I am terribly sorry for the confusion and stress I may have caused you. The ID is not on the portal and according to Stanford IT, they “are pretty sure the IDs are only for admitted students”. Yesterday, I called and asked if they would mind looking me up in the system. They found me and gave me my ID. Today, I called again about my SUnet ID and it is registered to my file but pending.
Well, that escalated quickly, and I don’t have a single clue as to what you guys are all talking about… cries
does anyone know when they send the acceptance mail? Like will the acceptance letters get to those lucky ones who get in on the same day the portal updates?
@KG5APR Where did you find that you had the ID in the first place? (Before you called them…)
I don’t understand, @KG5APR why did u think that u had a missing ID in the first place, and what did u call up and ask them exactly?
@CheckMate123 I didn’t find out until I called.
@KG5APR A Stanford ID is given to admitted students only. You could also have an ID if you had participated in a Stanford sponsored program like the EPGY. If you don’t have any other affiliation with Stanford it is likely you have been admitted.
@KG5APR So can we just call them and be like, hey can u look up if I have an ID number or not?
