Daughter was waitlisted! No idea what the chances are of getting in from the waitlist? It’s her dream school, but she has good options. Congrats to all who were accepted!

good God does it sting but congratulations to everyone who has been accepted! And for those who received less than ideal news like I did - keep your head up. We are more than this decision.

One of D1’s classmates had almost identical acceptances. She waffled for a bit between Harvard and Stanford, but ultimately chose Stanford. She figured she’d go to Harvard for grad school.
Ignore the above ChildOfIdiot poster. It’s a fake acct trying to start something. Man, what a loser. By the way, all of the denied applicants’ stats are so awesome that if I was accepted to Stanford and could give my spot, I would and go to Berkeley instead. But since it’s my kid who got into Stanford REA, he would be upset at me if I did that, so I can’t.
@hmongsenior17 This is how we chose. Since my kid likes nice weather, he chose Stanford and didn’t even apply to Harvard. However, even if he was admitted, the weather would have been the SOLE selection criterion. Nice weather for 4 years is very important to me who froze my bu** in Ithaca Ivy. Therefore, I would not want my kid to have to suffer through that freeze bu** experience.
@websensation I’m from Georgia, so I’m definitely not used to the cold. I’d like to think I may be able to handle it though, haha.

I am a yellow devil and I love black people. And I can’t “steel” any woman. lol You are a funny dude. I will discuss with the administration and persuade them to admit you so you won’t post dumb stuff. lol
@websensation, I always worry when people say they are choosing Stanford because they want good weather. There are good years but then there are plenty of cold, rainy ones too. This winter was one long rain storm with a lot of cool to cold temps. You have to head south for warm weather and even they had a cooler, rainier winter this year. It’s only starting to warm up now out here.

Rejected. Not that surprised but still pretty darn crushing given my incessant worrying, hard work, and support I had through these excruciating four months of waiting.
That being said, I know how much work it is to apply to your dream school – emotionally, intellectually… in every way – and I commend every one of you who worked so hard and believed in yourself enough to take a risk! Putting yourself in a position to receive either heart-wrenching or inexplicably exciting news and not knowing which you will receive takes a lot of bravery. So congratulations to all of you who obtained the coveted title of “Stanford Class of 2021” and to all of you who will belong to another class. I commend your strength, determination, intellect, and talent.
I don’t know how many people this will help, but the past few days have forced me to realize WHY I am even educating myself: it’s for the benefit of others. For me, the ultimate goal of education will always be for equipping myself to better contribute to my community and world, and I hope that some of you feel the same as well. During this time, this is a comfort to remember.

D accepted…totally unexpected. So unexpected she let me read her essays to Stanford for the first time. Totally was herself and let herself shine through. She is a great writer and when it was her voice without the influence of an outside voice, I believe, that was what set her apart because it seems all the applicants have the grades, scores and the extras that make them the top of their high schools.
Congrats to all who were accepted. It is hard getting rejected but doors will open for you to the schools you did get accepted to.

I’ve been lurking here quite some time and haven’t made an account until now. I was unfortunately rejected. Hurts a lot knowing your best isn’t good enough and knowing you let so many down who had such high expectations of you. Feel like this is a huge blow to my self-esteem. You guys think it’s possible to ask the admission team what you could have done better? I hope I can get through this soon enough… Congratulations to everyone who got accepted.
