Stanford Class of 2024 (entering 2020), Regular Decision

got a likely letter last week! go card

it looks like admit weekends at all colleges are going to get cancelled o_o

MIT just officially cancelled their CPW

stanford just cancelled ā€œin-personā€ admit weekend , all campus tours effective Monday ( will reevaluate after April 15) , and all classes will be online for the final 2 weeks .

Do you think decisions will be delayed, since Stanford appears to be closed right now?

Stanford is not closed. The last week of classes and finals are being delivered online. The campus itself remains open. The school is not offering formal tours and Admit Weekend is going virtual.

Any idea when the likely letters or decisions gonna come out?

Does anyone know if more likely letters will come out??? Or are they done sending likeliess?

@randomstudentt are you asking the same question in every top school thread?

April 1st

In the past Stanford has released the Friday after Ivy Day, so that would be March 27 this year.

Greetings!

Did I waste my time in applying to Stanford?

Given the randomness that is College Applications, you may get in! But the probability of that happening is low IMHO. It also depends on your essays, recs, demonstrated need, etc.
Just hope for the best!

As a person that is applying with stats lower than the typical applicant, I really appreciate your kind response. Many people are quick to dismiss others when they ask about their chances with low stats. Thank you for acknowledging the randomness of the admissions process as stats do not always make or break an acceptance.

Best of luck to all of us!!

@Penguin314159 I believe it also depends on the type of Engineering major. I’d always presume that majors like Computer Science, Bioengineering and Mechanical Engineering are more popular among undergrads than say, Materials Science. Or maybe it doesn’t matter what major a student applies to in Engineering? Either way, the uncertainty that college admissions brings to the table gives everyone a shot at admission. Good luck!

I took the ACT with writing and got a 31 (pretty decent in my book) because I took the SAT and only got a 1280 (1310 superscored). I also took the SAT subject tests because some of my schools required them or strongly recommended them, but I didn’t do too well (540 on lit and 600 on math). I sent them to the schools who required them obviously, but I also sent them to every school I applied to because I figured it would look good that I took them at all even if I didn’t get a highish score. Was that a mistake? At the time of applying I thought that showing the schools that I took the tests at all would be better but now I’m having second thoughts. Obviously I can’t do anything at this point but I just wanted to know what you guys thought about it.

Guys CC notice says the decision is on March 26 but I don’t see any official notice at Stanford’s website. Any thoughts?

Stanford usually releases on the Ivy Day. Ivy Day this year is March 26. Hence - plausible.

i thought stanford usually releases the day after ivy day… so march 27 this year.
