Do you guys feel like admissions are so weird this year? I didn’t get into a single school but Cal and UCLA. Read my stats scroll a little. But so many people I know with less gpa like I know a 3.6 gpa to wharton. It’s so weird and so disappointing. I cried so hard yday 0/8 ivies and I still feel so sad. Unless Stanford saves me I have no hope

Same. I have similar stats to you with slightly worse activities. I have been rejected from 8 schools (MIT, Cornell, Harvard, GT, to name a few) and only got into my state schools (UF, etc.).

i had a 3.6 and i got waitlisted for penn … i seriously don’t understand it 
… i have pretty good awards but i was still so happy. admissions are super weird though i agree. ik someone who got rejected to nyu and got into harvard

Yeah. Even my private counselor who sends up to 10 students to ivies every year, only had a single acceptance this year. And that student was a legacy. Not sure if its bc of current climate but even he was saying it’s so weird and that everyone didnt get results they wanted and are trying to transfer. My friend who worked for NASA and found a freaking exoplanet didnt get in anywhere either and she may be going to Cal with me. It’s so so heartbreaking.

yall remember college is what u make of it and undergrad admissions is not the end of the world!!! keep ur heads up 
And for you guys who want to transfer – seriously NOBODY is happy this year, you are not alone. So many ISEF winners, Google interns, NASA workers all got rejected. It’s really odd. But just know transfer will be so competitive since everyone is trying
It’s crazy! Seems like nothing is enough for these colleges. At least we wont be paying too much in tuition I guess

My state schools (even with max merit scholarship) are way more expensive than any of the other schools (like stanford) I applied to
Yeah, I hate it too. And seems like nobody got what they deserved either… I have another friend – Was a camper for an international olympiad. Got denied MIT. Got denied all ivies, waitlisted at Penn. Committing to UCLA probably. It’s insane. And don’t worry again if you didn’t get in. There’s something going on this year and we are all transferring.

Stanford is my last chance. I am literally numb to seeing “We are unable to offer you admission”. and “We had a highly competitive applicant pool.”
