Stanford Class of 2029 Official Thread

My DD got accepted to Stanford without an interview. I think the Stanford interview isn’t something to worry too much about.

Someone says Stanford started sending likely letters yesterday. Has anyone received one?

No interview: ~1 Hour away, outskirts of bay area. Not sure about rest of my school.

Stanford requires mid-year report by Feb 15. My daughter’s school sent it at the end of January. CommonApp shows ‘downloaded’ status for Stanford.

But on the Stanford applicant portal, the application checklist does not show ‘mid-year report received’.

Is this normal?

I would recommend calling the admissions office or emailing them (make sure to provide application ID). They are super kind and are always ready to help!

Same for us.

Where do should I see mid-term report missing, on the portal? I am an International student and my school was able to send mid-term report at the end of December already, together with the application…on the portal I see everything with green flag…

It’s not missing
The mid year report was never added to the checklist. Stanford has a very boring portal with almost 0 updates

also, for intls, did you all get the message saying that stanford doesn’t conduct intl interviews? I just saw that email lol

Nope

I know that Stanford says that interview invites do not rely on one’s application’s strength. However, does anyone have data about how many people got into Stanford without an interview last year?

International here, I had an interview

My son got in last year RD without an interview.

Have they announced when regular decisions will be out?

I’m guessing on the last Friday for March because it was like that during the previous year

It’s tended to be the day after Ivy Day, so yes, it usually will be the last Friday of March. A few years ago, it was the first Friday in April, however.

Everyone go eat lunch or go eat snack or go for a walk outside, go pet ur dogs, go bake cakes, do something to ease the pain of waiting. Lol :slightly_smiling_face:

I was deferred during REA, and now there’s no checklist on my portal — there’s just the “Forms” section with a checkmark next to the Defer Update Form.

Is this the same for any other deferred applicants?
