Stanford EA question

Although stanford is single choice early admission, are you still allowed to apply to other early action schools. I mean you dont have to sign a contract or anything do you?

If you apply to Stanford and another school for early action, you’ll be out if they find out.

I’m pretty sure you have to sign or check off that you haven’t applied to any other colleges during the early action period.

You can only apply to Stanford early if you do so. That’s why it’s single-choice early action. The ‘contract’ just says that you won’t apply to other schools early. It is not a contract that binds you to attend if accepted, since SCEA is not the same as ED.

There are a few exceptions to the rule. I believe they include applying early to public schools, international schools, etc. If that’s a factor for you, check out the website and see if the school you want to apply early to might fit under one of those categories.

Otherwise, applying elsewhere will not work. You sign an agreement (online signature) saying that you will not apply early to any other schools. It continues on to say that if you do go against the contract, your admission will be revoked.

You can apply to any non-binding early program at PUBLIC universities (UMich is one example)

Here are all the exceptions:

also
i do believe that if you use the same common app version
they will not let you select two for early
but that’s kind of easy to avoid

you can definitely apply to usc by the early scholarship deadline
