Stanford/Ivys/Most private colleges take superscored SAT score...right?

So would Stanford just look at the highest SAT scores and ignore the others? So would they not be able to judge your skills in CR and W and M by looking at your scores?
My scores fluctuate like crazy, but superscored, I end up with a 2130…If you take it individually, its complete fail.

Sorry, I meant 2150…bump?

To be precise, my superscore is M:800 CR:640 W:710
Also, are the scores posted on decision threads all superscored?

Please answer, anyone?

no definitive answer but id say 80% sure they look at your superscore the hardest. if u scored extremely low repeatedly before that might take away from your highest score if i was ur adcom but thats just me. actually if u applied this year i think collegeboard has a thing where u only have to send certain scores. u should check into that

by the way, on cc dont except an answer in 2 hours unless ur question is controversial haha

stanford requires all SAT scores

and op, yes colleges look at superscores…but that doesn’t mean you should take the SAT as many times as you want until you get that 2400.

Also, I think colleges only super score in order to drive their average SAT scores up.

most but not all. My score was not a superscore. I felt that a good score on my first SAT would look better than a slightly better score superscored from 2 or 3 SATs.

I quite agree with geckolord. Even though they may look at you superscore I’m pretty sure they’d be turned off to see that you did pretty awful several times before and had to repeat it so many times to do decently. I did my SAT reasoning and subject tests once. I had actually paid to repeat my reasoning test because I wasn’t sure how I did… But I got 2100 and I was gonna do it over… then I realised that I didn’t really study the 2nd time around and there was only a week left so I didn’t bother. In any case I think I would’ve gone insane sitting in a little desk doing the same things over and over for almost another 4 hours of my life. I don’t think I hate anything as much as I hate SAT.

But back to the initial question… you should’ve done you best on your first try. If you did the exam and found it was a disaster… that’s why you’re allowed to cancel your scores!

Best of luck though!

Most private colleges superscore, with a few exceptions.
Duke, for example, does not.
