Does anyone have any idea when stanford’s decisions are released? I have to respond to Amherst by the 24th, and I’m worried that I won’t hear from stanford before then. Should I contact Stanford, or will decisions be released with ample time to decide?

You should contact Stanford just to be safe. Contact them as soon as possible.

I agree with the above post; however, the admissions website states that the decisions will be released in “late May”. Therefore, you could contact them around the 20th if you have not yet received a decision to ask or to say that you have a conflicting deadline; or if you do not mind losing your deposit, agree to attend Amherst and if accepted at Stanford at a later date, withdraw from Amherst.

Just call them, tell them your situation and I am sure they will let you know their decision early.

This post scared me–anyway, your best bet is to call them, and tell them about your conflicting deadline. Best of luck–to both of us.

fax stanford your amherst acceptance letter; they can then notify you in a prompt manner so you have ample time to decide.

Jassi: Why would it scare you? Are you also having a decision conflict?

I am in a similar situation with Columbia. . . I called Stanford and they informed me that they simply could not release any decisions early. They said if Stanford was my #1 choice, I would have to lose my deposit and withdraw at Columbia in order to accept an offer from them…

You have already been notified of your acceptance at Columbia? How?

i was just thinking the same thing and went to check but nothing for me

Soho2: It scared me because I thought that decisions had already come out, and I was rejected!
