How strong is Stanford’s premed classes(bio, physics, chem)

Stanford’s chem department ties w/ MIT, Caltech, and Berkeley for number 1 in the nation.

If any of you are coming to admit weekend, come to BioSci 129B on Thursday from 3:15-5. The class is on:

Principles of cell organization; how common biochemical pathways are modified to generate diversity in cell structure and function. Roles of actin and microtubule cytoskeletons in cellular architecture. Mechanisms of protein sorting and trafficking, and protein modules and switches in regulating cell polarity. Yeast to polarized epithelial cells and neurons. Emphasis is on experimental logic, methods, problem solving, and interpretation of results.

It meets in Bldg 420-41.

Not really true, Berkeley’s chem department is much better than stanford’s. And I can’t really say that the premed chem classes at stanford (each with 200+ ppl) are all that much better in quality. You do get a much broader and complete education at Stanford, but if you’re hardcore premed, there are better choices.

Really really good
