<p>“unlucky”… ha, quit whining. (there’s a reason Stanford stops giving aid after a certain point, a generous one at that…)</p>

<p>If i have an EFC of 0 does that mean I go to Stanford for free since Stanford meets need 100%?</p>

<p>If you have an EFC of $0, your parents are not expected to contribute to tuition & room/board. The student is expected to come up with approx $4K for freshman year (savings, summer jobs, work study).</p>

<p>To add onto what Fresnomom said, if you get a scholarship, it goes directly towards covering the student contribution. So if your EFC is 0 and the student contribution is 4k and you get around 4k in scholarships, you’re looking at a free ride.</p>

<p>I just wanted to clarify that after reading their financial aid policy…it’s not as generous as I had expected it to be.</p>
