Stanford REA 2024

So many other places! Tomorrow represents the first day where we can start expecting official confirmation from Stanford as historically, a message has been released 1-3 days before decision day. Will be checking Instagram pretty regularly.

Out of curiosity, did anyone from Georgia ever get an interview? No one that I know got an interview…I’m super nervous and worried.

Apart from Stanford, I’m applying to 20 other schools so there’re so many writing supplements! I’ve finished the majority of them but I’m not touching questions like ā€œWhy this school?ā€ until the Stanford decision is released. I’ll be checking IG and Twitter (once every 2 minutes lol) and I’ll let you guys know if there’s good news

Wow!! 20 schools is a few! I wish you good luck in all of them. Yes please keep us updated if there are any developments over Twitter/Instagram!

Applied REA to Stanford and ED at Purdue. Also submitted RD to Texas A&M (already accepted to their college of engineering), University of Texas -Austin, Duke, USC, University of Michigan, and Cornell.

Just out of curiosity, is everyone’s application checklist still up in the Stanford Portal?

@kisauren You applied REA at Stanford and ED at Purdue?

Per Stanford, ā€œIt is Stanford policy that, if you apply to Stanford with a decision plan of Restrictive Early Action, you may not apply to any other private college/university under their Early Action, Restrictive Early Action, Early Decision, or Early Notification plan.
In addition, it is Stanford policy that you may not apply to any public university under an early binding plan, such as Early Decision.ā€

@Octagon, Purdue is a public university, so the restriction does not apply.

@kisauren, I am just wondering, if you get accepted to both Stanford and Purdue, wouldn’t you be forced to attend Purdue if they can meet your demonstrated need? Just trying to learn more about ED, thanks.

OP means EA for Purdue, which does not offer ED. As a public university, EAing to Purdue is allowed.

@CALDreamin Thanks for the clarification.

There has only been once in the last 18 years that they have released the decisions on the first Friday of December (2018). Every other year it has been on the 2nd Friday of December.

I’m definitely not saying that it won’t be this Friday though. I know that there are quite a few families that are hoping to have an answer this week!

For those watching the Twitter account, they have announced the upcoming release of scores as early as 2 days ahead of time anywhere from 10am PST (2014) to 5pm PST (2015) and as late as 3.5 hours ahead of time (2013).

Past ā€œpre-announcementā€ dates (and approximate time PST) and notification date (and time PST):

2018: 12/6 (2pm) for 12/7 (4pm) ← 1 day prior
2017: 12/8 (10:30am) for 12/8 (4pm) ← same day
2016: ??
2015: 12/9 (5pm) for 12/11 (4pm) <–2 days prior
2014: 12/10 (10am) for 12/12 (4pm) ← 2 days prior
2013: 12/13 (11:30am) for 12/13 (3pm) ← same day
2012: 12/13 (2:30pm) for 12/14 (3pm) ← 1 day prior

If anyone knows what they did in 2016, feel free to update this information.

Difficult to focus on completing other essays while waiting for Stanford REA results:( Thinking of applying to Duke, Yale and Columbia. Haven’t even started with the essays. I wish they release the results soon so that we can focus on the others if not accepted

interesting that this is up:

@nordic1 I saw that a month ago too. Let’s hope we’ll be directed to that page on the decision date

My application checklist is still up in my portal!

Yes. Sorry. Meant EA. They are a state school and requires you to apply EA if you want a chance at a scholarship which Stanford allows.

It’s confirmed to be December 6th–they posted on their website.

Stanford just posted the release date: December 6th. This Friday

Wow. Thanks for sharing! I was really hoping it to be this week. Good luck to everyone
