No it doesn’t. The number of applicants isn’t the same each year. When there are less applicants, acceptance rate tends to go up, so number of admits has a lesser change. Specific numbers are below. There were 24 more accepted than last year, not 128.
2026 – 56,378 applied, 2075 admitted (admit rate = 3.7%)
2027 – 53,733 applied, 2099 admitted (admit rate = 3.9%)
