While it is a very good thing, I am starting to fall in love with my school (finally). If I do get in, this is gonna be a bizznitch of a decision. Dream school vs. school i know i love being at.

mlt, so many of us are in the same situation! I have already been getting waited on hand and foot by Wellesley and the faculty is so supreme, and am already looking forward to a science class at MIT. It has been so great to feel special at Wellesley…especially coming from a CCC, but the calgrant plus the ease of moving, plus it being such a great place for my personality at stanford will make it a hard decision!

But one thing to help the anxiety I have found is to think: ok there is a 1% chance of me getting in. If I had to put 300 dollars down on a random number 1 thru 100 and had a 99% chance of being wrong, would I expect to come out on top? Prolly not.
Also, I made the decision that only 2 schools could pull me away from the school that I am falling in love with. Both of which i have a 1 to 2 percent chance of getting accepted.

17 days!!!

Do you guys know if we will be emailed our decisions, or do we have to check a website?? We are almost there!!

we will be emailed a letter which will open in a new window.

ok.now my cal grant thing changed. from application processed and pending with stanford listed to application awaiting processing.

Ilivefree, let me know if yours changed back to what it was like b4 the green checkmark by the app status.

SO ridiculous…it went backwards!!!

jgee, same thing. it’s now “awaiting processing”. ***?

just for fun, do you guys wanna make any bets as to what the freshman yield will be like? I say ~72%.

Btw, did you guys ever get an email saying your application is under review? I didn’t get anything like that, but I’m just assuming everything is fine if nothing is listed as unprocessed.

man ilivefree, that was so hope man!!! i hate it. now i have no hope =P

To Liontreelion: I got an e-mail about all my application materials being in and the date (May 15) in which I will find out my decision.

I e-mailed them today to ask for an early decision notice because I was accepted into another college that requires me to commit before May 15, they didn’t honor the request. I don’t know what I am going to do argh!

Stat:

HS: Salutatorian 4.0+ GPA
College: top public school
Credential: Gates Millennium Scholar
Refuge

Oh I got an email around around mid-April too but one that notified me of missing materials. I got those in ASAP and found out my application was complete through the status checker, but I didn’t receive any formal “Your application has gone to the committee for review.” I guess they don’t send those. It’s cool… I was just checking.

I hope we both make it!

dude I hope no freshman decides to go to stanford. Makes it easier for me =). funny dreams.
So no one saw their calgrant page? isnt cal grant supposed to be done by april 30? So confusing.

how I long for the days when Stanford took 150+ transfers…I must say we’re pretty gutsy to even apply knowing only 20 will be admitted.

Ehe101, you’re a Gate’s Scholar, too. Me, too!!! Awesome.

Anyways, yeah so I just screwed my finals this past week. Freakin’ 4 finals and a formal lab done in two days, and me falling ill… not good.

Does anybody know if your grades “drop significantly”, then they’d actually withdraw your acceptance… if at all accepted.

20!?
People with 4.0’s?

Maybe I should just forget all about it. I was relying solely on my essays.

Don’t lose hope! They’re not always looking for straight A perfect students, most of the time they’re looking for untapped greatness.

I’m just being idealistic though :P

Ehe101, send in your deposit for whatever college you got into if you can. (if you don’t mind potentially losing it). it looks bad to back out later, but it can be done, and you can always explain the unforeseen circumstances. it’s better to have your bases covered. i submitted my “statement of intent to register” and deposit to 2 schools last year because of the same reason, and was later able to back out of one.

you can definitely get your admission revoked for a significant drop in grades. that’s what happened to me the first time around at berkeley. and it was way too late to do anything else because i didnt have my final hs grades until late june (after i said no to a bunch of colleges, and yes to berkeley). so berkeley revoked my admission and i had to scramble to plan for fall.

I think I will do that but I will ask for a waiver instead of paying the $300 deposit.
