Stanford Transfer Applicants 2009

forgot to say that i’m like you liontreelion, I don’t have a clue what I’d do with myself if i got accepted. Stanford is the world’s greatest university in my humble opinion (I live 15 min from campus).

sure let’s swap. email me yours. same username @ gmail.

Stanford is the best fit for me, and that’s why I didn’t even apply anywhere else :)

Seriously?

Huh.

yeah yeah yeah, berkeley’s not REALLY in the same league as stanford (kinda arguable since us world news is known to have a private school bias), but yes we are THE rivals. especially in athletics…think ucla vs. usc. we have epic football traditions called The Big Game and we share the Lexus Gauntlet and the Stanford Axe. google any of these terms. especially relevant is “the play”…espn named it one of the top 10 greatest moments in football history! it’s even a wikipedia entry. [The Play - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Play - Wikipedia)

heck yea “the play”= greatest moment in college football history. oh and btw, his knee was down. if there had been instant replay back then, that call would’ve been overturned no doubt. but who cares, its still the greatest play ever. Go Stanford.

Does anyone know how big the waitlist is for Stanford… I applied for transfer last year and got tossed on the waitlist… I was a Freshmen starting my Sophomore year. Now, I’m a Junior (credit wise) finishing my second year.

HS was top 10% (it wasn’t amazing, but I did transfer 4 times), I’m amazing at math (got a 36 on ACT math section) but an 18 on the English section, and a pretty good artist.

I wonder if the economy will lower the yield rate for the Freshmen class, allowing us transfers to be accepted in greater numbers, than just 20 of us.

Oh, yeah my college is currently ranked #1 in Aerospace Engineering.

Because Stanford is so generous with FA, its yield might actually go up.

Does anyone know when the golden tickets will be released?

Supposedly mid-May. maybe a little bit before because Stanford admissions is going on a tour around the nation around that time… unless the people on that tour are not involved in transfer admissions. or they might be done deciding before they leave but not release the decisions until mid-May anyway.

missyujin,

how do you not know that stanford is cal’s rival? lol

I’ve yet to go to my high school to ask for a transcript, have the college dean sign off on the forms, submit the FA forms… I’m tempted to just withdraw because my chances are so small to begin with. I also just found out my GPA went down to 3.7… it’s been a rough quarter with a lot going on sigh But then again, I already did the hardest parts of the app, so I might as well try and see what happens. I don’t wanna be asking myself “what if” all my life.

DO IT! regret’s a b**ch.

Yeah. My chances are practically nonexistant. I don’t have a 4.0 (3.88)and I’m from a community college. Applied. Laying all my hopes on my essays.

^ That’s illogical on account that everyone’s chances are little to none

Fine…then my chances are in negative digits. TT_TT

I’m with ya, missyujin! although doesn’t Stanford prefer CC students to those trying to transfer from 4-year schools?

I think it’s an exception with Stanford. It only accepts 30 transfers per year, so wouldn’t they prefer IVY and Berkeley-esq schools to community colleges?

I hope you are right, though! Haha.

i wish i cured aids
i would def get into s

I wish I cured the common cold.
I could get in fo sho.

:)

i wish we could all get in!
