Stanford Waitlist Class of 2024

Just accepted my spot! We have until August 14th to accept.

Hey everybody! I got accepted last night as well. I would really love to connect with any of you guys as we are kind of in the same boat! I can’t message anyone yet because I’m a new member but I think maybe you can message me? I’m not really sure about the rules on here lol @cheddarthedog @RM2024 @lkg4answers @Bombowto @user_8367433 @katarauniversity

@sc2302 I’m also a new member and would love to connect with you and the others!

For those of you that got accepted, did they send you an email or did you find out the the portal? Hoping my daughter will have one month re chance…

Did they send you an email or was it through your Stanford portal

They sent us an email that an update was posted to our application status

I was also accepted off the extended waitlist but I can’t find where to accept in my portal … where is the link to the Admission Response Form?

@losername
Congrats. Did you eventually pull out of your double deposit to Vandy and UCB?

Do you know when we can enroll in classes?

@HeyThere101 If you are a frosh then during NSO (new student orientation) day. Yet to be determined. Per Stanford “ While course enrollment will open for continuing students on September 1, as new students, you have a New Student Advisement Enrollment Hold on your account, preventing you from enrolling.
Frosh: This enrollment hold will be released for all frosh during NSO after the Academic Advising components of orientation have concluded. At that time, you will be able to log into Axess and enroll in your Autumn courses. The date and time will be published in the NSO schedule.”

In light of its decision to go online for the fall, Stanford is giving the ED and RD admits the chance to reconsider taking a gap year. There is a good chance that people will do so … which means that there is still hope for those on the extended waitlist. Good luck, everyone.

Thanks for letting us know, by the way, do you if there is a deadline for students to reconsider taking a gap year?

Thanks! @LSJUparent deadline would be much appreciated!

There is still hope for some of you so good luck! Per Stanford tonight “ Deferring your Enrollment: First-year and new transfer students who were admitted under Restrictive Early Action and Regular Decision have the option of deferring their enrollment to next year. To request a deferral of your enrollment, submit your request through your Application Status Portal. The deadline to submit a deferral request is Wednesday August 19, 11:59 p.m. (PDT). ”

Hoping everyone gets the decisions they want soon!! ?? Does anyone know if we’ll still be able to change schools to Stanford if our current University has already started classes?

Hoping our daughter still has a chance! We are scheduled to quarantine in New York for 2 weeks before she can move onto campus there. Praying and keep our fingers crossed she will get in, and if so before we head to NY

You guys really do have a chance. Don’t ask me for more detail, but I know some kids who are leaning towards the gap year. Hang in there. Good luck, all.

I wish I knew the answer for you, but I don’t. Have you looked on the Stanford admissions FAQs or talked to someone in Stanford admissions for guidance? When do you start at your current school?

Some things I would check out and find the answers to if I was in your shoes: what is the policy is at your current school Re: withdrawal once school starts? How much money will you lose? Most schools allow you to withdraw up to a certain date with nothing going on a transcript but make sure. If your school is not remote and you are in on campus housing, can you break your housing contract, how much will it cost you, and are there any deadlines? Have you already taken out student loans that have been applied to your current school, and what happens with your loans if you want to move to another school? How long will it take to get back any money you have already paid to your current school/can you pay Stanford tuition (not sure what your financial aid/family contribution will look like). while waiting for any refunds? I’d know all these answers and have a talk with your parents or guardians so that if you do get called off the Stanford waitlist, you have the facts and can be ready to decide quickly.

Hope that helps! I also think there might be some more waitlist movement—just curious, when was the last time you sent anything letting them know you still want to be considered?

I will definitely look into all that, I’ll email some counselor’s and call the financial aid dept. about it. Thank you so much!! My classes start this Monday on the 17th actually, I’m kind of stressing out about a lot but this was super helpful!!

Just got rejected, anyone else?
