Stanford Waitlist Class of 2024

If people are getting rejection notices already is that a good sign or a bad sign?

Well if you haven’t gotten one yet, you’re in good shape lol

I applied for human biology. committed to UCSD. Really hoping for Stanford though.

Lots of bio/ human bio majors, prob just a coincidence tho.

Did they give a reason why they’ve already started rejecting people?

The only reason they’d release (reject) students from the waitlist is that their yield is strong and they don’t anticipate taking very many if any from the list…

@PrincetonSteve wouldn’t they have rejected a much larger volume of people if that was the case? it seems like a small group was rejected. i just assumed they have have a rough idea of how many people they’ll need and rejected people they definitely wouldn’t take from the waitlist.

I pray to god their yield goes down.

All of this is assuming if people were actually rejected. for all we know it can be a lie or an assumption/hypothesis. People on this site are WhACk. There is no way of telling if what people are saying is true…

That is a fact richard. I will not lose hope just yet. I will though if I don’t hear anything by the 15th

Just got admitted off the waitlist!!! I can not believe my eyes as I got rejected from UCI and cal poly slo!

Congrats! @krispey Did they email? can you paste it here if they did?

What major did you apply with? Are you OOS?

@krispey Huge congratulations!!! Can you explain exactly how you found out (phone call, email, etc) and what time (incl time zone) the email arrived?

LETS GO, they’re releasing earlier than usual. That has to mean yield wasn’t high. Don’t leave us hanging krispey, give the deets.

I’m actually shocked they released someone this early. Their yield must have been much lower than usual for them to accept people before commitment day. They’ve NEVER admitted before May 1.

this is an abnormal year, so its not completely out of the question

I find this hard to believe despite the unusual nature of this time. How many people would have already turned down Stanford before May 1? Seems dubious.

The facebook group had around 1380 people in it a couple days ago. It has 1335 now, so I’m guess a lot of people made their decision recently.
