I actually have no idea, because on the article it seems like that, but the daily makes it seem like they have already been added.
Also I made a mistake on my waitlist form and have been super sad about it for the past few weeks literally crying… I typed in an arrow to show a range (ex 35 members → 75 members) but when I submitted the form it turned into a ? and now it looks super weird. i hope they don’t reject me based off that one error i wish i didn’t submit it like that but now nothing can be done
i feel like they’ve already been added unfortunately
I also got waitlisted, do you guys recommend emailing a separate LOCI to stanford or is the 500 char. in the waitlist reply form enough?
I’m not sure. But everyone on here. PLEASE update us if you hear anything or get any updates from Stanford :’)
Do you guys know if the LOCI is also due before May 1st, or is it just the waitlist reply/update form?
There is no LOCI. They tell you explicitly that they only consider the waitlist update forms.
I asked an admission officer and the class size increase already happened. Class size increasing will still be helpful for waitlists but very marginal.
wait so we can’t email them a LOCI nor upload it to our portal? but the 500 character limit is so small? Are you guys treating it as an LOCI and embedding updates into it, or simply listing your updates?
Please help, I’ve never written an LOCI before
Did you specifically ask the admissions officer about the waitlists or are you just inferring that it will be helpful?
Also, what did yall put as your major? Just want to know what majors are currently sitting on the waitlist lol
Music (I’m so cooked) wbu?
Nice!
why would it be helpful for WLs? wouldnt it be worse because they would have more people enroll now?
Class size has increased by 150. The number of waitlisted applicants remained constant at 1% of all applicants. In this case, we have an extra 150 kids who may or may not end up at Stanford. Using a yield rate of 80%, we get an extra 30 kids who will be taken off the waitlist. Since class size has permanently increased, more waitlists will be used to maintain it.
Not necessarily, Stanford may have just admitted more people which when forecast with the average yield rate will result in around the target class size.
No they specifically said they are increasing the class size, its not a yield thing.
“In the last 50 years, everything at Stanford has grown – the size of the faculty, the number of graduate students, the annual budget, the physical campus, the array of programs and majors, the number of qualified applicants – but not the number of undergraduate students.”
Yes, I understand.
Unitynoob, did you specifically ask stanford admissions about what that means for waitlisted students? I just don’t think we can make inferences at this point.
Is the stanford waitlist form due tomorrow by 11:59 pm or by tonight 11:59 pm?
