Stanley Cup playoffs 2012!

:):):):):):)

Happy for the King and for those 100 season ticket holders who have been there from the beginning. First 8th seeded team to win the Cup. They’ve had an impressive run and it’s nice for them to win it at home.

As for Bernier and his idiotic penalty, well, he’ll have lots of time to contemplate how his stupidity likely changed the tone of the evening. Giving the Kings a 3-0 lead early on, there was no recovering from that.

Thanks everyone for two months of hockey discussions. Same time, next year! ;)

We won!!!

Not having posted since the Blackhawks got dumped in round 1, that was sure an emphatic victory. I am now focusing on Euro 2012.

congrats Kings!

gloworm, I too am focusing on that… unfortunately, my second team (behind the USA) is always Netherlands, and they looked quite terrible (compared to their potential) in the first game.

I am looking forward to the game today v Germany. Of course, I go for Spain, my husband’s country, and for the last 9 years, son’s as well.

I’m watching the PvD game now.

Any of you Kings’ fans watching the ceremony in LA?

The Flyers/Penguins game was supposed to be on this channel but maybe they’re showing this on the entire NBC network and switching afterwards.

Nice for them to have the Cup there. They have the family of one of the children killed at Sandy Hook there for a tribute. Their son plays hockey so this must be very exciting for him.

So if anyone knows about longtime Wings announcer Mickey Redmond, they’ll understand my happiness. When the Wings scrimmaged the Griffins on Tuesday, I got a shout from Mickey for my birthday. My mom was at the game and was sitting right in front of where he was announcing. She turned around and asked him and I got a shout out on TV

I have awesome parents and apparently he was very nice.

Hockey is back

And thanks for sharing that always, I didn’t know about it. Very touching.

romani, yay for a shout out from Mickey. Happy birthday, by the way!

I remember watching him play for the Canadiens in the late 60s. I grew up in south Jersey and we went to all of the Flyers games in those early years.

As annoyed as I am about both the owners and players messing up this season, I’m happy that it’s back, too. Flipping back and forth between the Kings/Hawks, Jets/Sens, and Flyers/Penguins at the moment. And tonight, it’s the Leafs/Canadiens!
