I don’t like when refs determine games. Didn’t see this one but I’m also still displeased with the penalty shot. Spose we’re even-ish now.

Well, good series either way, all :)

Well, good series either way, all :)

I understand why the ref made that call, but if he had looked down the ice to see what was going on, he might not have made it.

Bad break for the Blackhawks.

I agree notrichenough. He made the call before the goal was scored. He couldn’t have known.

Chicago wins 2-1. Seabrook scores.

Moot point now, I guess.

Congrats Blackhawks!

Chicago scored, it’s over.

Great game!

Now to beat the Kings.

And out East I’ll go for Boston.

Hey. We got a season so I ain’t even mad.

Go Boston!

Oh my God! What a goal. Both of them were great, in fact. ;)

Congratulations to the wings on a hard fought series. Next time we meet like this it will be for the cup.

In the meantime, look for that call in the worstcallseverhalloffame.

We all have a much needed break before the next round. Any predictions for round 3? I read some interesting stats today. Offensive power, by far, goes to the Penguins who are averaging 4.27 goals per game, more than a full goal better than the Bruins who are in second place with 3.17. The Bruins lead in number of shots and percentage of faceoff wins. Both the Pens and the Bruins were much stronger in their second round than in their first. The Pens are the only team standing who was not forced to a game 7.

The Pens power play is dangerous, and the best of all teams in the playoffs, and the Bruins penalty killing is eighth so this may be an area of concern for Boston. Will the time off for these teams be an advantage when the series begins on Saturday?

Almost every article I’ve read today about the LA/Chicago matchup has concluded that if Jonathan Quick is playing his game, as he has so far, LA will win. He leads the playoffs in goals against average, save percentage and shutouts, by a fairly wide margin. The Hawks are going to have to increase their goal production, and focus on making the good offensive plays. They have the talent, they just have to get it going, starting with their captain.

In the playoff scoring summary of top 30 point-getters - Pittsburgh has 8 players; Boston has 5 (including Krecji the leader); Chicago has 4 and LA has 2.

These four teams still standing are the four most recent Stanley Cup winners!

Of all the teams, the Kings will give the Hawks the worst time. They are big and unless the games are called tightly, could cause some serious issues.

I’d like to see a Toews/Crosby Cup, just since they played together at Shattuck, and that would be a fun thing to watch.

I agree, that would be fun.

Rooting for Boston v. Chicago finals - Original Six confrontation. Just my Detroit and Original Six bias showing. Plus friends in both cities I can needle back and forth through a long series.

Game 1 in both series today.

Hawks/Kings @ 5:00.

Pens/Bruins @ 8:00.

For Hawks fans that’s 4:00 and 7:00.

alwaysamom, you can see it’s not just myself and poetgrl who are O6 fans.

Sorry about the time zone issue! I should have included that.

gloworm, I never imagined that you and poetgrl were the only fans of the original 6. I still don’t understand it, though, given that, other than the name, there is nothing original about the teams, including their arenas! ;)

Go Hawks and Pens!

Count me in hoping for an original six match-up … Bruins vs. Chicago.

Go Bruins!!!

Well, as I said very early in the thread, I will be overseas before the Final even begins, but from what I have seen and read, Kings are favored over Hawks, and Penguins are favored over Bruins.

Let’s Go Pens!

Well, that was unexpected!
