Well, that certainly turned out to be an exciting evening!!!
Start planning the parade route.

It’s unfortunate that the Caps will likely win it in Vegas and not in front of their fans. The players don’t really care but after all these years, their long-suffering fans should get to see it in person!
Though as a Caps fan of long standing, i see a two-game lead and I curl up in a fetal position.
(Anyone else remember when the Caps became the only team in NHL history to lose a 5-game series after being up by two? Yeah.)
But who knows? In this season of vanquishing playoff demons, maybe it’s fitting.
I would rather win in Vegas than have to come back to DC for game 6. We’re all aware of the Capitals playoff history, and there’s no certainty that game would turn out well. Fleury could easily turn things around and shut down the Caps.
I’d be thrilled if the bounces continue in go in our favor for game 5 and we celebrate the end of 40+ years of frustration Thursday night. The DC celebration that would follow would/will be amazing for sure.
Agree, better to just get it done in Vegas. Good luck to the Caps on Thursday!
Yes, I understand the trepidation of having it come back to DC. I meant more just in general that it would be nice for their longtime season ticket holders to actually be a part of the final game and win of the Cup.
Is anyone going downtown for tomorrow night’s festivities?
@CountingDown Have fun!

I know several folks who have tickets for Sunday. I’m jealous, but honestly all of us think that it would be great to win it at home, but even better to win it tonight!
Yep, get it done tonight! Have fun @CountingDown !
I normally pay scant attention to hockey, but we were in DC in business over the weekend. Monday evening we unwittingly chose a restaurant two blocks from our hotel that was right across the street from the Capital One Arena. The game started while we were eating, and it was impossible not to get caught up in all the excitement. We quickly finished and then went to join in the red-shirted throng outside. Go Caps!
We went out for seafood and came back as Caps fans.
GO CAPS! #ALLCAPS What a game!
CONGRATS to the CAPS and all their great fans!! This was a long time coming, but so, so very SWEET!!
Good things come to those who wait. THANKS, CAPS!!!
Congratulations to the CAPS and all the fans!
Wow, congrats!!!
FINALLY!!
Caps in 5 it is. I believe I had that.
