I forwarded this to several friends who are also fans. I suggested they bring the extra cup to me! Yum! The Creme Brulee’ latte is out of this world!

This is just what I need after posting about sugar snap peas on the sugar craving thread! (I am regretting every Frappuccino I drank last summer.) Of course, I’ve already emailed DH to set up a date for Saturday afternoon. (Fortunately, our Starbuck’s is about a mile from home, so we at least burn up the whipped cream walking there and back.)

You can get some of their drinks ‘skinny’…sugar free syrup with low/non fat milk. This does not mean calorie free my any means, but it cuts it considerably. I will say the taste is wholly dependent on the barista. Sadly, the whipped cream isn’t included…

I have a friend who LIVES for the Gingerbread latte - do you have a favorite one of these holiday drink? I think I would order the Peppermint Mocha but I’m curious about the Creme Brulee Latte…

Whipped cream adds about 70 calories I’m told…IMO, the whipped cream is TOTALLY worth cutting out 70+ calories somewhere else in the day…just on occasion. :)

^ Consider a soda is 150 calories +/- I would think it’s worth skipping the soda and going double on the whipped cream!
I can justify just about anything!

I had a no fat venti creme brulee latte tuesday then went home and checked the calories to add to my journal (dieting - 28 pounds lost so fa :D). 430 calories. 430 calories!!!. OMG  that’s like 1/3 of my daily calorie allowance.
. And that was no fat. I can’t do the sugar free syrups - they taste nasty to me. Will have to stick with regular no fat capuccino except for the very ocassional treat. But I really want a peppermint mocha after reading this thread!!!

One way to cut the calories is simply cut the portion size–find more folks to share the drink with or drink part of it when hot & refridgerate & had the rest “iced” when it counts toward another day’s calories. Too much is supersized anyway, even “small” or “tall” sizes.

I love the peppermint mocha. I have lost weight this year and I am seriously considering if the peppermint mocha is worth the calories. I also wonder if now that I have cut much of the sugar out of my diet if I would even like the taste anymore.

I am a BIG sucker for the Gingerbread latte - but was hesitant to get one the other night since I have lost quite a bit of weight recently too and want to STAY there! The barista was really nice about it and suggested that I get one with fat-free milk, half the pumps of syrup (she said it was 70 calories per pump) and skip the whipped cream - well, I negotiated up to half the whipped cream! Actually, after being without sugar for so long that was sweet enough for me with half the syrup!

ooh - good idea! I never though of that. I actually found the one I had the other day slightly too sweet after having cut so much sugar out of my diet.

Thanks for the tip, abasket. H and I just got back. He tried the caramel brulee and I tried the peppermint white mocha. Mine was a little too sweet, but he liked the creme brulee.
