Starbucks Gold Card

Any Gold Card people on here? Anyone recommend it?

It’s $25 membership +$2 tax. -_-
10% off every drink (which is the main reason why I want the card), free 2 hr wifi, free additional syrup, free soymilk, free birthday drink, and stuff like that.
I wish this had free espresso shots. =(

Anyway, I’m debating whether I should get it or not. I can imagine myself visiting Starbucks quite often during college… since I already do now lol.

How often do you guys visit Starbucks?

i have a b&n card. around here most of them have starbucks built in so i get 10% off starbucks and b&n, but then again i like dunkin donuts better anyway.

Starbucks taste great but it’s a complete waste of money. If you have a blender or kettle, you can make the majority of their beverages at home over and over for a lot cheaper.

If you want to save the 27 dollars it cost for the membership, you’d have to use more than 270 dollars. So… it’s up to you

i work at b&n in the cafe and thus feel obligated to tell you that we are not an actual starbucks, we are a barnes and noble cafe serving starbucks coffee

Well, there’s a free drink when you first buy the card? and a free drink when it’s your birthday… so let’s just say they let you buy whatever you want. Two drinks could be $10… so you do not necessarily have to spend $270.

Wifi = $3.99 for two hours, extra syrup = $0.30, soy milk = $0.40… those are extra fees which could be voided because you have a card. D;

But I really don’t know how often I would be there, so I wanted to know if many people go during non-finals week… are there a lot of people that go there just to do homework or something?

I don’t know how particular you are about your caffeinated beverages, but you’ll save more money if you buy coffee from your school’s dining places and occasionally buy fancier drinks from Starbucks.

Whenever I walk past the Starbucks near my campus, I can see some people sitting near the window doing work, but it’s not necessarily more crowded during finals week. During finals week, the library opens up more 24-hour rooms, and the student center stays open 24/7. I’m sure you’ll be able to find plenty of places to study without going to Starbucks.

My friends go to Starbucks based on the location. Last year my best friend was less than a mile away from the normal Starbucks and there was one in the dorm she lived in and she went allll the time. Now she lives almost a mile away and hasn’t been there in weeks. You need to find out where the Starbucks are to see if you would even take the time to walk there to get Starbucks before you get a card that you are paying for.

I personally don’t drink coffee during finals week or any sort of week. I just buy ice tea/passion tea when it’s hot and hot chocolate when it’s cold sometimes.

It really depends how many days a week you get Starbucks. If it’s less than 3 times, I say don’t do it.

Don’t get it. It’s a waste of money.

i got one as a christmas present from my sister and i think it’s worth it. what they don’t tell you is that every month, you get offers for free drinks in the mail. for example, i’ve received like 3 free frappuchinos, free pint of starbucks ice cream, 3 free smoothies…the list could go on!! it honestly does pay for itself after a year.

Okay now I want one.

Peets is way better

If you’re stressing over $25 then maybe drinking $200+ of starbucks isn’t the best idea.

As a Starbucks partner, I can tell you that with the Gold Card you’ll get 10% all purchases, except gift cards. 2 free hours of wifi a day, occasional free coupons (most recently free Vivanno smoothie), free drink with 1lb coffee. You do NOT get free soy or syrups. That is with a registered Starbucks gift card, which is reloadable, no fee, just put $5 or more on it and use it at least every 30 days. As mentioned, free soy and syrups (except mocha, white mocha, and pumpkin-coming back soon!), 2 free hours of wifi in the cafe, free refill of coffee or tea while in the cafe.
If you get coffee or plain lattes, the Gold Card is best for you.
Vanilla Soy Chai Lattes, then the Starbucks (gift) card is your best bet.

^ And that is the best part about fall and winter. Pumpkin flavored coffee and white hot chocolate. Yum!
