Any thoughts on where to rent a telescope for an evening of stargazing?
Or…a (very) inexpensive one I can purchase?
Thanks!

I have just recently found out that some public libraries have them. Check your local libraries. They have a lot of interesting items such as an air fryer, a metal detector, a vacuum cleaner, a telescope, etc. for patrons to borrow.
Yup, you can check them out from our local library.
I had no idea! Unfortunately no library near us.
I bought this telescope in 2018 which is adequate but not exciting - saw the rings of Saturn and a couple of moons of Jupiter from our back yard - fuzzy but identifiable. I suspect there are newer better ones.
If just starting out you could get a good pair of binoculars. They can actually be better than a low-end telescope.
Oh thanks!
Am heading to a dark sky area next week (joshua tree) and we do have some good binoculars already.
There are apps on your phone that you just point to the night sky and it will tell you what your seeing and lots of information. Have a nice trip.
I think it was Skyview Lite or something like that.
Thank you!!
