Start at community college, Planning to transfer to University

Dear all users,

I am new here at college confidential, and the reason I create my own thread is that I want to receive more specific and deep-clearly replies from other College Students.

I am a freshman at Wilbur Wright College at Chicago, although I try hard I have a feeling that I will fail, because it is my first year here in the states, and I have never prepared for college especially for US colleges ( I come from ASEAN).

My first question is If i get low GPA, Can i take the course again? Can I start again at other college without transferring my bad GPA? My destination is University of Illinois at Chicago!

MY second question ( Kinda friend request), I am willing to be friend with friendly local and international students who just start new life in US or have been studying in US for long time! Let us be a life-long friend!

You’d have to ask a counselor at your current college what their policy is.

When you apply to another college, you have to send your transcript(s) from your previous college(s), so they will see your GPA.

I’d suggest you visit your school counselor and/or department advisor for help. Maybe they can help you find a tutor or direct you to other services that will help you.
