I saw DS just played the video game everyday, should I push him to start looking for summer jobs ? he told me I.U. could help on the resume, should we wait ?

Freshman’s resume is not going to be impressive. Career related summer job/internship after freshman year or even sophomore year is not easy to find. DS2 was a tennis instructor while taking two summer classes after freshman year. The summer after sophomore year, the parent of his best friend got him an intern job. He was taking E202 at the same time. DS3 could not get any response from Walmart/Meijer for the summer before freshman year. I was determined to ask him to work at Walmart as stacking crew after midnight. Two days after graduation, he got a great internship opportunity to work for our local community foundation on the community developing project. I don’t know what he can find this summer other than the two courses he will be taking. At any rate, it is not a bad thing letting them experience the struggles of job hunting or the hardship of hard work.
