Starting a travel blog instead of summer school?

Instead of taking a 12 day trig course this summer should I start a travel blog (I will be visiting London, Paris, and Israel this summer + little towns across SO. Cal.)?
My GC suggested that I always have something to show for my summers and because of my month long family trip it will be diffiult for me to take summer school/get a job/volunteer work.
I do have some familiarity with blogging, what do you guys think?
How would I present this to admissions in my application since I will have a blank spot on my transcript for that summer?

Really? No one… it’s almost summer…

Why don’t you do both.

You have a 10-12 week summer break. A four week family trip is not a good reason to do nothing for the rest of the summer. It will not be hard to find volunteer opportunities for your remaining time.

Why don’t you do things that reflect your innate interests rather than an orchestrated perception of what you think makes you look interesting.

Be interesting, don’t just appearto be interesting.

But frankly, it’s nothing you should worry about. Either you are or you aren’t and there’s not much to change that.

Be yourself and do your darndest not to give a **** about what others think. For you, I think that will be a huge challenge (just read your thread about your anxiety about not taking summer school). Your user name is a giveaway as well. Please devote some time into this area of development of your character however. Good luck
