<p>hi! i have a close friend of mine who was quite intelligent but was lazy in high school. he ended up with a bad GPA and decent test scores. </p>

<p>hes changed his life around and wants to start college. and he wants to graduate at a decent university. im asking cc on behalf of him, is there a way to start anew? his bad gpa/ok SAT scores wont get him anywhere really. </p>

<p>but dpes he have options? like will re-taking the SAT or taking the ACT and getting an incredible score boost his chances despite his bad GPA / him being out of HS for over a year? or should he go to a uni/comm college and transfer if he keeps a perfect GPA?</p>

<p>Well, you haven’t listed particular stats so the idea of a “good” SAT score is really very relative. I’d suggest your friend to go to a community college and then transfer on to a 4 year university after 1 of 2 years.</p>
