Starting HS a year late?? Effects on College??

<p>Would starting high school a year late have a bad effect on chances of getting into a College?
I started Gr.9 September of 2010, but I have to stop a third of the way due to certain reasons.
Would restarting fresh next year impact my future for getting into a college?</p>

<p>Why should it be a negative? Colleges accept gap year applicants and others not directly out of HS.</p>

<p>No, there is no reason why it would hurt you. As long as you work hard and make your high school years productive, they probably won’t even notice or ask about the absence.</p>

<p>^Hey, I faced almost same situation. In my case, I took a year off after my Junior year. Still, the app process has been really positive and I have been accepted by college too. And, I am an international student requiring a LOT of financial aid.</p>
