HELP!

Does anyone know how crucial (% wise) extra curricular activities are in applying for some of California’s top law schools? Im getting ready to go back to school to get my bachelors and eventually law school. Im trying to properly plan it out. To go a little more into detail… for the moment being I am picking up my studies again at a community college in So. Cal. I did things backwards and I started out as a business major, took many business classes and some of the general ed. classes but stopped due to work. Im going back to pick up the pieces and start pretty much over again. Ive been told to change my major to political science and transfer to a cal state then to law school from there after I finish my BS??? I have also heard that I would have better chance at a top law school if I were at a UC vs. a CalState. Since Im going to go through that whole nightmarish process again I really need to have a better scope on things and a plan of action

I’ve been out of the loop for a while, and have really no idea how to go about it, any help is greatly appreciated.
