The 3.63 isn’t specified if it’s weighted, or what kind of rigor of courseload she had, if she did any ECs, and her SAT/ACT scores.

She may have fail everything else.

And I don’t even think a 3.63 UW is even a good GPA.

A 3.63 UW GPA would approximate 3 A’s and 2 B’s on a report card. A 3.63 GPA should be recognized as pretty good. Unfortunately, grade inflation is widespread in education today and I guess 3.63 isn’t good enough for much.

reading all of these stories makes me awestruck to how i was accepted to FSU. MY SAT’s and ACT scores were low, my GPA could have been better, and I have only taken 2 AP classes in my high school career.

I think it may be because I’m related to 10+ Alums or I’m in a ton of activities? I don’t know!

Those are current per the most recent Common Data Sets. However, the CDS reflects only Fall admissions. Summer admits are lower.

My college advisor was VERY helpful into getting my classmates and I into one of our top 3 choices it was nice having the matrix on hand! I was actually talking to some of my classmates and some of them were rejected from UNF but got into FSU, and UCF meanwhile I was rejected from UCF and got into UNF and wait-listed at FSU. I wonder what happened between my stats vs. some of my other friends (most had higher SAT/ACT scores while I had a higher GPA and vice-versa).

rejected @ UNF, but got into FSU?
how does that happen?
(i go to UNF).

Honestly, I wish I knew one of my classmates made a 1060 SAT, 22 ACT, has a 3.2 GPA was deferred then rejected at UNF, and USF but accepted at FSU, UCF, and FGCU.
VERY WIERD =/

damn.
are you sure she wasn’t lying.
1060 is a low SAT, and i know you have to have above a 3.4 to get in to FSU.
i don’t doubt she was accepted to UCF and FGCU (v. easy to get into).

I’m quite positive that she wasn’t lying! I do know this that she applied to UNF late around January as a “back-up” school along with Ole Miss. She had better SAT/ACT scores than mine yet I had better grades but the other schools accepted her while I ended up wait-listed or denied. Maybe certain officers liked her app essay versus mine along with her scores. But I still don’t think test scores “measure” how well you will perform in college.

The FSU-Panama City campus needs more students. If it doesn’t increase enrollment in the next 2 years it may have to close according to T.K. Weatherall.

Too, it seems with many of the Florida community colleges now offering 4 year degrees, some head bumping and turf wars are developing with the state universities in areas where they both operate. Seems like there is duplication of course offerings with competing Florida public colleges in some areas. Students can get in colleges, maybe just not in their first choices.
